Mayawati Claims Record-Breaking Turnout at Kanshi Ram Rally

On Friday, Mayawati, president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), announced that the “record-breaking” turnout at the rally in Lucknow on the occasion of the 19th death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram has left rival political factions feeling “sleepless and nervous.” The rally took place at the grand Kanshi Ram Memorial on VIP Road, where thousands, especially youth and women, expressed their support.

Mayawati took to X to share her views on the impressive gathering, highlighting the enthusiasm among attendees. She noted that the slogans resonating throughout the event reflected a steadfast commitment to elect a BSP government in Uttar Pradesh for the fifth time. The energy among supporters showcased their “unwavering determination,” she stated.

As the four-time chief minister, Mayawati remarked on how opposition leaders often lose their composure witnessing such a strong show of solidarity from their political rivals. She called on her supporters to disregard what she termed as “meaningless remarks and statements” from the opposing parties.

In her speech, she emphasized, “The people of the Bahujan Samaj have shown the entire country how committed they are to fulfilling Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s dream of turning the oppressed into the ruling class through their votes.”

The BSP leader also encouraged party workers to be vigilant against the “divisive and deceitful tactics” practiced by political opponents. She urged them to dedicate themselves fully to the party’s ambitious ‘Mission 2027’, aiming to secure victory in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Expressing her gratitude, Mayawati commended party functionaries and workers from all 75 districts for their efforts in mobilizing lakhs of supporters safely to and from the rally. The active participation in paying tribute to Kanshi Ram across India exemplified unity and strength in advancing the BSP’s mission.

Political analysts speculate that the massive turnout might reshape the competitive landscape in Uttar Pradesh as the state gears up for the elections scheduled in 2027.
