BJP Honors Sher-e-Duggar Pt. Prem Nath Dogra on Birth Anniversary

On the birth anniversary of revered nationalist leader Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, known as Sher-e-Duggar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid rich tributes across Jammu and Kashmir today. The commemorative observances took place in various locations, highlighting the significant contributions of Dogra to national integration and unity.

In Srinagar, BJP National General Secretary and In-charge for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Tarun Chugh led the tributes by garlanding the portrait of Dogra at the party office. He was joined by senior party leaders such as Sat Sharma, J&K BJP President, Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, and Anwar Khan, all offering floral tributes to the esteemed leader.

Chugh praised Pt. Dogra as “an institution of national integration and selfless service.” He remarked that Dogra’s unwavering dedication to the cause of ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ has become a guiding principle for the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and continues to inspire the BJP today.

According to Chugh, the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A by the Narendra Modi Government represents a realization of Pt. Dogra’s lifelong aspirations and stands as “the ultimate tribute to his steadfast commitment to national unity.”

Sat Sharma characterized Pt. Dogra as a visionary leader, emphasizing his role in spearheading the Praja Parishad Movement aimed at integrating Jammu & Kashmir fully with India. Sharma proclaimed, “Pandit Ji’s long-cherished dream has been realized under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Ashok Koul reflected on the moral integrity and conviction exemplified by Pt. Dogra, emphasizing his leadership in the “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” movement, which resulted in the abolition of the separate post of Prime Minister in J&K.

In addition to the tributes in Srinagar, BJP leaders in Jammu also honored Pt. Dogra. They included MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, J&K BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Baldev Singh Billawaria, among other senior officials. This group performed a Hawan and offered floral tributes at Dogra Chowk.

Jugal Kishore Sharma acknowledged Pt. Dogra as “a towering statesman and patriot who led the historic Praja Parishad Movement for full integration of J&K with India.” His contributions continue to resonate with party workers and the public.

Sanjita Dogra called upon party activists to emulate Pt. Dogra’s spirit of selflessness. Baldev Singh Billawaria highlighted that Dogra’s ideology is foundational for the unification of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian Union. The BJP’s tribute today reflects a collective commitment to uphold and carry forward Dogra’s legacy of national unity and integrity.
